New to the League, or need a refresher? Here are a few of the things you can expect during Greenville Little League's Fall Season.
Registration is open between July and August, so make sure that you mark your calendar. You don't want to miss it!
After the players have registered, we begin the process of
finding our coaches. All of Little League is volunteer-run, so please consider helping to lead your player's team on the field.
Our coaches attend a
coaching clinic, where they will be given instruction on Little League rules, logistics for managing a team at GLL, and how to teach the fundamentals.
Our Fall season is specifically designed to be
instructional, and is a great opportunity for players to learn the game, a new division of the game, or a new position on the field. We do not keep score during the Fall Ball program, so there are no standings and no pressure to compete. We will play a series of games against other Fall Ball teams to put the new skills into practice.
There are no evaluations in the Fall.
Teams are formed through a combination of manager selections and the League distributing remaining players evenly. We cannot guarantee special requests for team placement. Siblings will always be placed together on the same team.
Once the teams are formed, it is time to
practice and prepare for our first games. Our game schedule runs from Labor Day to Halloween typically. The manager of your team will distribute your game and practice schedule once it is available.
During the Fall, our games will be held Monday through Thursday, with the younger kids (T-ball, CP Prep, Coach Pitch) playing earlier in the day than the older kids. You can expect one or two games during the week, and the days that the games are held may be different each week. Our first games will start around 5:00 and the later ones around 7:00.
While coaches will have access to many fields around Greenville and Mauldin for practice, our games will be played at
Conestee Park, Lakeside Park, or Timmons Park. On game nights, Conestee Park does have a full
concession stand with hot food options, and traditional ballpark snacks for sale.
